The Embedded Z Host is a true embedded microcontroller that is compatible with all the system modules in the à la mods family of products. It is design around the Espressif ESP32 SoC with an added GPIO expander to provide a complete Raspberry Pi® 40 pin header set of I/O.
It is designed around the ESP32 WROOM-32 module which employs an Xtensa 32-bit LX6 dual-core 240 MHz (up to 600 DMIPS) embedded microcontroller with integrated WiFi and dual-mode Bluetooth.
In addition to the integrated wireless technology the ESP32 supports myriad peripheral interfaces including: multiple serial ports (SPI/I2S/I2C/UART), touch inputs, PWM outputs, ADC, DAC, Hall sensor.
The UEXT connector provides additional access to the standard serial ports supported by the 40 pin GPIO header:
Input 0 => pin 36
Input 1 => pin 33
These pins must be setup as inputs.
The EMBDZ19121 module has several à la mods Dual Jumper selectable options to increase its flexibility.
